Four Join MIR Clinical, Research Faculty

Four physicians have joined WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) faculty, lending their expertise and experience to the department’s patient care and research teams.

Leah A. Jensen, MD, was appointed assistant professor in the interventional radiology section. Her clinical and academic interests span interventional oncology, vascular interventions and image-guided therapies. Jensen’s scholarly work includes publications in neurology, molecular biology and interventional radiology, reflecting a strong commitment to both patient care and research.

Jensen is an alumna who recently completed an integrated interventional radiology residency at MIR and served as one of the 2025-2026 chief residents. She earned her medical degree from WashU Medicine.

Daniel Kushner, MD, joins the interventional radiology section as an assistant professor. Kushner has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic medicine through numerous publications and national presentations in interventional radiology, nuclear medicine and patient safety. His work has addressed a wide range of topics, including oncologic interventions, vascular trauma and innovative approaches to patient care.

Kushner completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Temple University Hospital before pursuing fellowship training in interventional radiology at MIR. He earned his medical degree from Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine.

Julio C. Marin Concha, MD, joins the pediatric imaging section as an assistant professor. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has been recognized through leadership roles, including serving as the 2023-2024 nuclear medicine chief resident. His clinical interests include pediatric imaging, nuclear medicine, musculoskeletal radiology and imaging informatics.

Marin Concha completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. He then completed a musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at Beaumont Health before joining MIR to complete fellowships in nuclear medicine and pediatric radiology. Marin Concha earned his medical degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. He also holds a master’s degree from Dresden International University.

Seonyeong Park, PhD, joins the department as an assistant professor of radiology. She will work within the Computational Imaging Research Center (CIRC) and the Center for Computational and AI-Enabled Imaging Sciences (C2AIS), focusing on biomedical imaging with interests in developing innovative imaging technologies that advance biomedical research and improve healthcare applications.

Park comes to WashU Medicine from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she has held several positions, including postdoctoral research associate, research scientist and most recently, research assistant professor. Prior to that, she served as a postdoctoral research associate at WashU.

Park earned her doctorate in electrical and computer engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University and a master’s degree in information and communications engineering from Pukyong National University.
