Zhang Receives Inaugural SNMMI Abstract Award
Hanwen Zhang, PhD, assistant professor of radiology for Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, was honored with the inaugural Lalita and Mathew (Madhukar) Thakur Award from the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI). This award is given to the best abstract for its outstanding investigation in translational nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. Zhang’s winning abstract is titled “A novel theranostic pair for potent prostate cancer alpha particle therapy: [89Zr]/[227Th]-L804-PSMAUrea.”
Zhang is a member of the Molecular Radiotherapy + Imaging Laboratory, based within the Precision Radiotheranostics Translation Center, where they leverage multidisciplinary areas of radiology, radiation oncology and engineering to create innovative, translational solutions. His research interests include radioisotope- and dual reporter-conjugated ligand design, synthesis and validation.
