Şencan-Eğilmez Joins MIR as Assistant Professor

Ikbal Şencan-Eğilmez, PhD, has joined the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) faculty as an assistant professor in the Biophotonics Research Center. Her research involves developing advanced preclinical optical microscopy methods to quantify oxygen delivery and consumption to advance neuroimaging.

Şencan-Eğilmez previously worked at Harvard Medical School as an instructor in the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging’s optics division. She received her doctorate in electrical engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed her postdoctoral training at the Yale School of Medicine and the Martinos Center at Massachusetts General Hospital.
