The Radiology Clinical Research Core (RadCore) is a support facility that assists researchers throughout Washington University School of Medicine with all aspects of their clinical research needs.
RadCore's mission is two-fold:
- Maintain a philosophy that centers on a commitment to service and is executed at the highest quality possible to ensure reliability, integrity, enthusiastic passion and compassion for research participants.
- Create a sense of community among clients, allowing for research-driven investigations and scientific exchange that helps connect imaging scientists, physicians and radiologists across different departments, divisions, and institutions to succeed.
RadCore is committed to fulfilling multiple research needs for Washington University faculty. Our strengths include clinical trial coordination involving imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, ultrasound and X-ray. Historically clients requesting services have included both basic and clinical imaging research conducted by diagnostic faculty. However, due to the customized service and outstanding performance provided by RadCore personnel, clients requesting services have expanded over the last 10-plus years to include multi-departmental collaborations and numerous subspecialties not always requiring imaging modalities.
Today, clients include not only radiology faculty, but faculty from anatomy and neurobiology, anesthesiology, bioengineering, genetics, internal medicine, oncology, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, neurology, neurological surgery, pathology and immunology, pediatrics, psychiatry, radiation oncology and surgery. The use of an imaging modality as a focus is no longer a prerequisite. RadCore staff are dedicated to foster and expand your research endeavors.
