Reis Named Director of Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program
Martin Reis, MD, associate professor of radiology for Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been named director of the diagnostic radiology residency program, effective July 1. He succeeds Jennifer Gould, MD, professor of radiology, who has held the position since 2006.
Reis has served as program director for the neuroradiology fellowship since October 2021 and previously served as the director of residency education in neuroradiology during his time on the faculty at Saint Louis University. An alumnus, he completed both a residency in diagnostic radiology and a neuroradiology fellowship at MIR and joined the faculty in 2019.
As neuroradiology fellowship program director, Reis chaired the fellowship selection committee and the fellowship program evaluation committee. This has given him a national presence on the ASNR Neuroradiology Fellowship Directors Committee, which helps to set national guidelines for neuroradiology fellowship training.
Reis is also a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Neuroradiology and the Radiological Society of North America. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University in New York City and a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey.
