Advancing Precision Medicine at RNSA 2025

Faculty and trainees from WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) traveled to Chicago for the 111th Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting — a radiology forum bringing together physicians, scientists and trainees from across the globe. During the five-day conference, our team led lectures and discussions, shared their clinical and scientific work, furthered their education, connected with fellow imaging experts and and received recognition for their achievements.

A few highlights from this year’s conference include:

  • Farrokh Dehdashti, MD, received the prestigious RSNA Outstanding Researcher Award for her pivotal role in expanding the role of PET in oncology research
  • Joseph Ippolito, MD, PhD, was inducted into the 2025 Class of Distinguished Investigators from the Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research
  • MIR research featured in an RSNA press release found adults with more muscle and less visceral fat had “younger”-looking brains, providing important insights into brain health
  • Education leaders hosted a luncheon session for prospective trainees during “Tips on Applying for a Radiology Residency”
  • A team of researchers presented their findings on the first study evaluating the impact of obesity on Alzheimer’s disease blood biomarkers, which was featured in another RSNA press release
  • We reconnected with our widespread alumni network at the annual MIR at RSNA reception
  • Our booth in Recruiters Row provided the perfect space to connect with other conference attendees and share the incredible faculty opportunities available at MIR
