Virtual Colonoscopy: What You Need to Know
Most colorectal cancers begin as small harmless polyps that can be detected by a colonoscopy. Unlike a traditional colonoscopy, a virtual colonoscopy doesn’t involve a scope or require sedation, and allows you to return to your daily activities immediately afterwards. Candidates for a virtual colonoscopy include those who:
- Have had an incomplete colonoscopy
- Cannot tolerate a colonoscopy
- Want to avoid sedation
Ask your primary care physician if you’re a candidate for a virtual colonoscopy.
