The holiday season is a time of generosity, a feeling echoed throughout the halls of Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology thanks to the MIR Giving Project.

The MIR Giving Project — this year spearheaded by three first-year residents — is an annual initiative to sponsor three families through 100 Neediest Cases, a program that has helped children, families and seniors throughout the St. Louis region since 1922.

This year, the MIR Giving Project hosted a bake sale featuring a variety of treats and desserts from volunteer bakers throughout the department. All of the bakes are donation-based and the proceeds fund the families’ basic needs like food, shelter, utilities, appliances, clothing and more.
