PRTC
Disease Imaging and Therapy Lab
The Disease Imaging and Therapy Lab, led by PatrĂcia Ribeiro Pereira, PhD, focuses on tumor-targeted, multimodal strategies for imaging and therapy, integrated with complementary spatial and molecular approaches to investigate the regulation of membrane targets and to develop strategies to overcome drug resistance in tumors. In addition to cancer, our lab is increasingly engaged in tracer and antibody development for central nervous system disorders and other disease areas where targeted imaging and therapy can improve diagnosis and treatment. Our research bridges basic biology, preclinical approaches and clinical needs to advance precision medicine across a range of diseases.

Our People
The Disease Imaging and Therapy Lab adheres to a mentoring approach that combines excellence in science and an engaging environment that fosters a collegial and collaborative atmosphere for all lab members.
Projects
Our lab develops and applies biomolecule-based strategies to deliver imaging or cytotoxic agents, and we leverage multimodal imaging to monitor the uptake and distribution of molecular-targeted compounds in vivo. We use acute and temporal pharmacologic approaches to modulate disease biology and investigate mechanisms of resistance. We aim to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other diseases through the development of novel tracers and antibody-based therapeutics.
