Boodram Named Christian Hospital Chief of Radiology

Mitra B. Boodram, MD, clinical instructor for Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been named chief of radiology at Christian Hospital starting July 1.

A neuroradiologist with more than 34 years of experience, Boodram has served many area hospitals, including Alton Memorial Hospital, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Christian Hospital. He joined MIR as a physician at Christian Hospital in January 2020.

Boodram earned his medical degree from Chicago Medical School, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago followed by a fellowship in neuroradiology at the University of Toronto. He has received many honors, is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and is extremely well respected by colleagues, staff and nurses.

He succeeds James G. Stewart, MD, who assumed the chief of radiology position in October 2020 and has provided outstanding service and leadership. Dr. Stewart plans to move to part-time status on July 1 and will continue to serve Christian Hospital.
