Strnad Receives Early Career Award from Barnes-Jewish Hospital
Benjamin S. Strnad, MD, an assistant professor in the abdominal imaging section for WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR), received the Early Career Award from the Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH) Medical Staff Association. This honor is awarded to physicians within the first 10 years of their careers who demonstrate outstanding work in patient care or teaching, exceptional interpersonal skills, strong mentorship and notable potential to lead the next generation of physicians.

Strnad is the director of abdominal radiology procedural quality and safety and of the abdominal biopsies and ultrasound services. He also works to increase access to diagnostic care through his work co-leading the portable ultrasound clinic at Casa de Salud, which earned him the WashU Medicine Dean’s Impact Award. He joined the faculty in 2020 after completing both a diagnostic radiology residency and an advanced abdominal imaging fellowship at MIR.
Strnad is one of six awardees recognized out of a competitive pool of nominees. He was honored at the BJH Medical Staff Association Semi-Annual General Staff Meeting on November 13, 2025.
