Jani, Rahmani Receive RSNA Resident/Fellow Research Grants
Two WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) residents — Karan H. Jani, MD, and Farzaneh Rahmani, MD — were selected to receive Resident/Fellow Research Grants from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) to support their imaging research projects. These competitive grants, each providing up to $50,000, aid the residents’ innovative imaging research and help them build a strong foundation in scientific investigation during their radiology residency.
Jani, a diagnostic radiology resident and a current chief resident, will use the fund to work on his project “Developing a CT-Based Clear-Cell Likelihood Score: An Explainable AI Approach With Transport-Based Morphometry.” Rahmani, a diagnostic radiology resident on the research track and a member of the Neuroimaging Labs Research Center, will use the fund to support her project “Integration of Head CT Quantified Adiposity and Sarcopenia with Machine Learning for Opportunistic Screening of Alzheimer Disease.”
