Matthew S. Parsons, MD, is a professor of radiology at WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR). In addition to his roles as co-director of head and neck imaging, Parsons was named director the neuroradiology fellowship in 2023. In 2017, he was named neuroradiology quality and safety officer.

An MIR alumnus, Parsons completed a fellowship in neuradiology, following a diagnostic radiology residency at Saint Louis University. He also served in the United States Army Reserves for 15 years. His research interests include head and neck radiology, brachial plexus imaging, image post-processing and cost-effective imaging. Parsons is a member of several professional organizations, including the Radiological Society of North America and the American Society of Neuroradiology. He also serves on the School of Medicine’s Committee on Admissions.
