5 Radiologists Join MIR

Five radiologists have joined the patient care practice at WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology.

James Cameron, MD, joins the physician practice in pediatric radiology. He previously worked at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago for 17 years, serving as an assistant professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, co-director of the medical student clerkship and director of pediatric radiology. He has earned many awards for teaching excellence during his time at Rush.

Cameron earned his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, where he was also chief resident. He earned his pediatric radiology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

Azadeh Eslambolchi, MD, joins the faculty as an instructor of radiology in the pediatric imaging section. She recently completed a nuclear medicine residency at MIR and passed the ABNM certification exam. Prior to that, she completed a pediatric radiology fellowship at MIR as well and was named the 2025 Resident/Fellow Research awardee by the RSNA Research & Education Foundation.

Eslambolchi earned her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. She trained in several postgraduate programs, including CT at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and MRI and Non-Vascular Interventional Radiology at Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

Satvik R. Hadigal, MD, joins the interventional radiology section as an assistant professor of radiology. He completed his fellowship training in interventional radiology at MIR and was a 2023 recipient of the RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award.

Hadvigal earned his medical degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science, followed by an Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology training at Rochester General Hospital.

Christine Peterson, MD, joins our community physician practice, providing both remote and on-site services. She has served on the faculty of Pennsylvania State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for the last several years.

Peterson returns to MIR, having completed her diagnostic radiology residency and an abdominal imaging fellowship here. A WashU alumna, she earned her undergraduate degree in biology. Her medical degree is from the University of Texas School of Medicine.

Ghazal Shadmani, MD, joins the community practice division as an assistant professor of radiology. Her primary practice locations will be Phelps Health and Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital. She brings a wealth of skills to the department, including nuclear medicine, neuroradiology, pediatric radiology, image-guided procedures and data analysis.

Shadmani completed her medical degree and diagnostic radiology residency training at Shiraz University of Medical Science. She completed her residency training in nuclear medicine and a pediatric radiology fellowship, both at MIR, and a neuroradiology fellowship at the University of California, Davis.
