4 Join MIR Clinical, Research Faculty
Four new faculty members have joined Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
Runnan Cao, PhD, joined the Neuroimaging Labs Research Center as an instructor in December. A K99/R00 awardee, she previously worked as a postdoctoral scholar in the Wang Neuroscience Lab led by Shuo Wang, PhD. Cao holds a doctorate in cognitive neuroscience from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Cao’s research is focused on cognitive computational neuroscience, particularly in underlying fundamental mechanisms of visual and social cognition in neurotypical brains and how they are altered in neurological conditions. Her work includes neural coding of faces and objects, and investigating how visual perception supports higher-level cognitive functions.
Andrew Greer, MD, joins the neuroradiology section as an assistant professor. He completed his diagnostic neuroradiology fellowship at MIR and then joined the Clinical Radiologists practice in Glen Carbon, Illinois. Greer earned his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he also completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in diagnostic radiology. He completed a neuroradiology fellowship at MIR and earned a master’s degree in pharmacology from Georgetown University.
Ryan Raut, PhD, joins the Neuroimaging Labs Research Center as an instructor. As a Shanahan Foundation Fellow at the Allen Institute and University of Washington, his research focused on data-driven dynamical modeling of high-dimensional neural time series. His work aims to investigate the spatial and temporal organization of brain function. Raut earned his doctorate in neurosciences from WashU.
Archana Sachedina, MD, joins MIR’s physician practice and will provide radiology and nuclear medicine services for community and academic sites. She previously worked at University of Arkansas Medical Sciences as an assistant professor of nuclear medicine.
Sachedina completed her nuclear medicine training at MIR, where she served as the nuclear medicine chief resident. She also served as chief resident during a diagnostic radiology residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Sachedina earned her medical degree from Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences.
