Thank A Resident Day 2026
At WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, our residents and fellows are at the heart of our mission to provide exceptional patient care. They bring fresh ideas, thoughtful questions and an everyday drive to improve — pushing all of us to keep learning and keep advancing what’s possible in radiology. Known as the “house staff,” these trainees work alongside attending physicians to care for patients while sharpening their skills and growing into future leaders in the field. Just as importantly, they help educate the medical students who rotate through MIR.
That’s why Thank a Resident Day matters. Started in 2018 by the Gold Humanism Honor Society, the nationwide celebration was created to encourage programs to show appreciation for residents and fellows and the impact they make every day.
