Ippolito Lab

The Ippolito Lab, centered in cancer metabolism, merges clinical metabolic imaging (e.g., hyperpolarized MRI, PET, CT), metabolomics, and metabolically-driven therapeutics to develop new paradigms in precision medicine. Our goal is to identify key metabolic pathways that support metabolic compartments in tumors, understand how nutrients are shared among these compartments, and develop/repurpose imaging methods and therapeutics that can target these compartments.

Our People

The lab, led by Joseph Ippolito, MD, PhD, consists of an interdisciplinary team of trainees and established scientists with experience that runs the gamut from laboratory biology and multi-omics to imaging and therapeutic trials.

Projects

The Ippolito Lab uses a variety of imaging methods to explore body composition, cell metabolism and prostate cancer.
