Hardware

The RCIF maintains an evolving infrastructure of high-performance computing resources interconnected by high-speed InfiniBand and integrated with high-speed and volume shared storage.

Software

Open source software packages are installed as requested. Commercial packages require a discussion about licensing. We maintain local mailing lists for select software packages.

Training and Support

We offer a series of training sessions and workshops for users with little-to-no high-performance computing experience to those with specific interests. We hold monthly introductory training sessions and special, rotating topic workshops. The RCIF also provides a variety of channels for accessing direct support.

Central Neuroimaging Data Archive (CNDA) Data Management

The CNDA was designed to facilitate common data management and productivity tasks for neuroimaging and associated data.

  • Research scanner integration. Image sessions are automatically archived into the CNDA from all research scanners and can be associated with specific projects making it easy for researchers to quickly access data they collect.
  • Support for a range of image upload/download methods, including DICOM, FTP, web services, and web browsers
  • An extensible data model that simplifies the incorporation of new data types by automatically generating the necessary database tables and relations, user interface components, and search engine plug-ins
  • Quality control modules and audit trails, including a virtual quarantine that houses uploaded data until authorized users have validated them and a complete history profile that tracks all changes made to the managed data
  • Secure web-based user interface for data entry and access
  • Sophisticated search engine that builds queries across data types
  • Online image viewer that supports a number of common neuroimaging formats, including DICOM and Analyze
  • Pipeline engine for automating image processing routines; and suport for containerized processing.
  • Support for multi-site studies

MIR Research Imaging Repository

The MIR Research Imaging Repository (MIRRIR) makes anonymized clinical imaging data available to researchers for research purposes.

  • Through connection to clinical PACS system anonymized imaging sessions are acquired and archived.
  • Researchers may submit a project request for approval to access imaging required to support their research.
  • Researchers request specific imaging sessions by accession number or may be pulled by RCIF staff using researcher supplied query criteria.
  • Imaging sessions are associated with a project, with secure access granted to the requestor and their approved colleagues and staff.
  • Containerized pipeline processing is available.
