MIR and Lagos University Team Up for Stroke Care Grand Rounds

Members of the neurointerventional radiology team from Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis have teamed up with Lagos University Teaching Hospital’s Acute Stroke Centre to present a grand rounds lecture on acute stroke care.

Rano Chatterjee, MD, associate professor and co-director of neurointerventional radiology, presented “Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke” via Zoom. Chatterjee, also an associate professor of neurosurgery and neurology, discussed best practices for treating patients suffering from stroke and explored the possibility of establishing Nigeria’s first acute stroke mechanical thrombectomy care center. Ultimately, this exchange of information strengthens the connection between the two institutions and expands MIR’s international radiology network.
