Volunteering to Vaccinate Against COVID-19

In the fight against COVID-19, Washington University School of Medicine called for volunteers to help staff local vaccine clinics. Nicole McKay, PhD (above left), Tammie Benzinger, MD (above center), Diana Hobbs, PhD (above right) and other Benzinger Lab members volunteered in a variety of roles: guiding patients to the correct locations, scheduling and checking in patients, as well as vaccinating. The day of service was led by the lab’s Diversity and Wellness Steering Committee.

“This was a great opportunity for people who either don’t have clinical or medical skills, or have those skills but don’t work frontline, to support all the workers who have been serving the community for this entire last year,” said McKay.
