MAC@W Scholar Dlamini Joins Lab for the Summer

Lwandile “Wandi” Dlamini, an undergraduate student at Macalester College, joined the Optical Brain Dynamics Lab as part of the MAC@W Summer Scholars program. A partnership between Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Washington University Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences, two Macalester students spend the summer in St. Louis conducting laboratory research to gain hands-on experience in biology and biomedical sciences under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Dlamini worked with principal investigator Masatoshi Inoue, PhD.

Dlamini is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in neuroscience with minors in psychology and biology and a concentration in cognitive science. During her time working in the lab, she contributed to the team’s mission of exploring the brain function of different social behaviors by using optical molecular tools to map intricate neural circuits. The lab team greatly appreciated her contributions and enthusiasm throughout the program.
