CardiothoracicScott M. Bugenhagen, MD, PhD, is an assistant professor in the cardiothoracic imaging section for WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR). Bugenhagen also serves as co-director of the advanced cardiac imaging (CT/MR) program. His research focuses on the development of novel mathematically derived algorithms to provide personalized treatment of coronary atherosclerosis.
An alumnus, Bugenhagen completed his cardiothoracic radiology fellowship at MIR, where he also trained for his diagnostic radiology residency and participated in the TOP-TIER T32 residency training program. He earned his medical degree and a doctoral degree in physiology from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Computational modeling, systems physiology, regulation of coronary flow and perfusion, cardiac mechanics and bioenergetics
