Omar R. Vayani, MD
Diagnostic Radiology Resident
Graduation Year:
2029My hometown: Fort Worth, Texas
My teachable medical school moment: Sometimes the answer doesn’t come fast—trust the process!
Why I chose MIR: The clinical training is strong, but what really stood out was how committed the faculty are to teaching and mentoring. It felt like a place where I could grow.
My personal interests: Spending time with family and friends, exercising, cooking, drinking chai, and looking for Yemeni coffee shops.
My favorite go-to meal: Anything my dad makes — he’s the real chef in the family.
Why I’m excited about living in St. Louis: I’ve heard great things about the neighborhoods, the parks, and the zoo. I’m looking forward to exploring it all.
Something most people don’t know about me: My family owned an ice cream shop when I was growing up.
Anything else you should know about me: I'm the kind of person who will randomly deep-dive a topic for three hours, then casually bring it up over dinner.
