Maria J. Ly, MD, PhD

Diagnostic Radiology Resident

Graduation Year:
2027

My hometown: San Leandro, CA
My teachable medical school moment: Learning invaluable life lessons from veterans while recording their life stories as part of the My Life, My Story program
I chose MIR because: The world-class mentors and the research opportunities available
My personal interests: Succulents, flowers, literature, art, food
My favorite go-to meal: Bun bo hue
I’m excited about living in St. Louis because: I love the friendly Midwest and the Missouri Botanical Gardens, and I can’t wait to see Art in Bloom in person!
Something most people don’t know about me: I have ridden an ostrich and then eaten an ostrich (but not the same one!)
Anything else you should know about me: One day, I hope to raise ostriches on my own farm.
