Inside the School of Medicine
Washington University School of Medicine is committed to advancing human health throughout the world. As noted leaders in patient care, research and education, our outstanding faculty has contributed many discoveries and innovations to science and medicine since the school’s founding.
Our GME Partnerships
The Graduate Medical Education Consortium (GME) was created to oversee the quality of graduate medical education training programs. Within this structure, MIR residents are employed by Barnes-Jewish Hospital, while fellows and faculty are employed by the School of Medicine.
Wellness Programs & Resources
The GME Wellness Program provides resources and programs for trainees aimed at improving health, reducing stress and burnout, and enhancing work-life balance. Programs include free counseling, employee health clinics and family care resources.
Medical Campus
Washington University Medical Campus, which covers 186 acres over 18 city blocks, is located along the eastern edge of Forest Park in St. Louis’ Central West End neighborhood.
