Connection and Collaboration at the 2025 Imaging Sciences Pathway Retreat

Imaging science is a dynamic and multidisciplinary field, so each year the community at WashU comes together under one roof to connect and showcase their latest work at the Imaging Sciences Pathway Retreat.
The event is hosted by the cross-school initiative, which includes several entities at WashU: Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, the School of Medicine, McKelvey School of Engineering and the College of Arts & Sciences.
The retreat featured student presentations, a poster session, a reception and two plenary speakers.
Viktor Gruev, PhD, the Wendell and Rita Dunning Faculty Scholar Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, presented “Bioinspired Imaging Sensors for Detecting Endogenous and Exogenous Fluorescence in Cancer Surgery.”
Sana Karam, MD, PhD, the James S. McDonnell Professor of Radiation Oncology and chair of the WashU Medicine Department of Radiation Oncology, presented “Where Can We Use Imaging to Reduce Treatment Regimens?”
