Chaney Receives WIMIN Rising Star Award
Aisling Chaney, PhD, assistant professor of radiology for WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR), was selected for the Rising Star Award from the Women in Molecular Imaging Network (WIMIN). The award recognizes exceptional early-career scientists who demonstrate outstanding potential and leadership in molecular imaging.

In the MIND Lab, Chaney — also a principal investigator in MIR’s Precision Radiotheranostics Translation Center — aims to enhance understanding, detection and treatment of devastating neurological diseases through the development and evaluation of noninvasive translational molecular imaging strategies. Her team uses these strategies to characterize the role of peripheral and central innate immune cells in the initiation and progression of neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases.
WIMIN is an interest group within the World Molecular Imaging Society that supports the advancement of women in molecular imaging sciences. The group advocates for women’s issues within the society, offers leadership and career development opportunities and highlights the professional and scientific achievements of its members.
