Rooting for the Home Team, Building the MIR Community

Baseball is more than a pastime in St. Louis — it’s part of the city’s identity. For WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) faculty, trainees, staff and their families, it was also the perfect setting to connect, unwind and cheer on the home team.

The annual MIR at the Ballpark outing brought together colleagues at Busch Stadium to watch the St. Louis Cardinals, 11-time World Series champions, take on the Washington Nationals. From a private suite, attendees enjoyed sweeping views of the stadium and the St. Louis skyline while taking in the sights and sounds of a late summer baseball game. The suite offered the best of both worlds: the excitement of being at the ballpark alongside comfortable amenities and an assortment of food and drinks to enjoy throughout the evening.

While the Cardinals ultimately fell to the Nationals, the night offered its own kind of victory. The laughter shared and memories created outside of the hospital made the night a memorable success.
