Castro Inducted Into American College of Neuropsychopharmacology

Daniel C. Castro, PhD, assistant professor of radiology for WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, was inducted into the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP) as an associate member.

A premier professional society, membership in the ACNP is by nomination only and is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated potential to become superior investigators in the field of neuropsychopharmacology.

Castro is an opioid biologist and experimental neuroscientist who leads a lab within MIR’s Biophotonics Research Center. His research focuses on how endogenous opioids modulate affective and motivational neural circuits that control appetitive behaviors.
