Brooke A. Starr, MD
Diagnostic Radiology Resident
Graduation Year:
2030My hometown: Lafayette, IN
My teachable medical school moment: When I did an elective in my fourth year to assist first-year students with dissections in anatomy lab, I was reminded of how much knowledge I had accrued to that point and how much learning I still had ahead of me. This experience reinforced my interest in medical education.
Why I chose MIR: My experience during my second look suggested that this program would provide high-caliber training in a kind and respectful environment (and this has been true!).
My personal interests: Watching college basketball, women's college volleyball, WNBA, NFL, and MLB. Running and playing recreational sports. Enjoying food and drink with others. Assembling jigsaw puzzles and Lego sets. Perusing the local farmer's market.
My favorite go-to meal: Pizza
Why I’m excited about living in St. Louis: It offers a variety of experiences! I'm excited to explore Forest Park, enjoy all the free activities and experiment with many different cuisines.
Something most people don’t know about me: Most people wouldn't guess my age based on appearance, which is a wonderful compliment.
Anything else you should know about me: My path to this point in training has been long, winding and exceedingly fulfilling. Let's grab a warm beverage and share life stories sometime.
