Ribeiro Pereira Receives WashU Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award

Patrícia M. Ribeiro Pereira, PhD, assistant professor of radiology at WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR), was awarded the WashU Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award. This award recognizes three WashU faculty members who go above and beyond to support their postdocs intellectually, socially and personally, while fostering a nurturing academic environment. Recipients help postdocs advance their research, build professional skills and achieve their career goals.

Ribeiro Pereira is the principal investigator of the Disease Imaging and Therapy Lab within MIR’s Precision Radiotheranostics Translation Center, focusing on exploring tumor-targeted multimodal imaging techniques and the regulation of membrane receptors in tumors and their microenvironment. Her lab adheres to a mentoring approach that combines scientific excellence and an engaging environment that fosters a collegial and collaborative atmosphere for all members.

Ribeiro Pereira was selected to receive the Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award for her exceptional ability to combine rigorous training with genuine trust in her postdocs’ ideas. Her mentorship empowers postdocs to pursue independent research and secure competitive funding, while fostering a lab culture of openness, confidence and sustained professional growth.
