PET-RTRC Invests in Student Researchers Through Summer Mentorship
Each summer, undergraduate and medical students from across the country participate in the WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) Summer Research Program (SRP), a paid, 10-week program that introduces participants to the diverse disciplines within radiological science while providing hands-on research experience and mentorship from leading experts.
To aid in this effort, members of the PET Radiotracer Translation and Research Center (PET-RTRC) provided financial support for two students. Four PET-RTRC members also provided hands-on mentorship:
- David H. Ballard, MD, a collaborative project leader, mentored Aren Shah
- Patrícia M. Ribeiro Pereira, PhD a collaborative project leader, mentored Adan Habib
- Vijay Sharma, PhD, PET-RTRC TR&D 3 leader and SRP director, mentored Eliana Soiffer
- Richard L. Wahl, MD, a member of the tracer review committee, mentored Vaughn House
