PET-RTRC at WMIC 2022

Three members of the PET Radiotracer Translation and Resource Center stand at a booth at the 2022 World Molecular Imaging Congress in Miami, Florida.

Members of the PET Radiotracer Translation and Resource Center (PET-RTRC) at Mallinckrodt Institue of Radiology (MIR) attended and presented their research at the World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC) in Miami, Florida. This four-day event brought molecular imaging professionals from around the world together to network, exchange ideas, showcase their innovations and continue their study of novel imaging strategies.

Gyu Seong Heo, PhD, an instructor in radiology working in the Liu Lab, showcased research from Yongjian Liu, PhD, associate professor of radiology, and his TR&D 2 project, which was accomplished in conjunction with Collaborative Project #10, led by Frank Bengel, MD, director of Hannover Medical School’s Nuclear Medicine Clinic. The poster was titled “Targeted PET Imaging Detects CCR2 and FAP in Cardiac Injury Mouse Models to Visualize the Inflammation-Fibrosis Axis.”

The TR&D 3 project, led by Vijay Sharma, PhD, professor of radiology, was also represented with a poster presented by Jothilingam Sivapackiam, PhD, instructor in radiology, titled “68Ga-Galuminox: A PET Tracer for Imaging Mitochondrial ROS Activity.”
