Gastounioti Secures R01 Grant to Address Racial Disparities in Breast Cancer

Racial disparities exist between Black women and white women both in breast cancer mortality rates and in AI models that predict cancer risk. In efforts to address the gap in current predictive models, Aimilia Gastounioti, PhD, secured a $3.1 million R01 NIH grant to develop a new tool to help accurately assess long-term breast cancer risk in Black women.
