AbdominalBenjamin S. Strnad, MD, is an associate professor for WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR). He serves as the director for abdominal radiology procedural quality and safety, director for the abdominal biopsies service and director of ultrasound.
Following the completion of a diagnostic radiology residency and a fellowship in advanced abdominal imaging, both at MIR, Strnad became a faculty member in 2020. During his residency, he was honored for excellence in medical student education in the field of radiology. He received his medical degree at McGovern Medical School (UTHealth) in Houston, where he was recognized for outstanding achievement in neuroscience and completed a scholarly concentration in the medical humanities. Strnad completed a transitional year internship at Methodist Hospital at Indiana University in Indianapolis, and earned his bachelor’s degree from the Plan II honors program in liberal arts at the University of Texas at Austin.
