Research Interests
My research focuses on validation and implementation of novel radioligands for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging in the CNS and cardiovascular system. The targets of interest include sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 1 and 2 (S1P1/2), vesicular acetylcholine transporter (VAChT), phosphodiesterase 10A (PDE10A), P2X7 receptor and sigma 1 receptor, which play key roles in neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer disease and Parkinson disease, neuroinflammatorydiseases such as multiple sclerosis, and cardiovascular diseases including atherosclerosis and vascular injury and remodeling. Research Areas include

  • In vitro and in vivo validation of novel S1P1 PET radioligands for neuroinflammation and vascular inflammation
  • Preclinical characterization of novel PDE10A PET radioligands for CNS diseases with striatal pathologies
  • Preclinical and clinical investigation of cholinergic dysfunction in AD and PD using novel VAChT PET radioligands
