Qing has been with the Benzinger research group as a postdoctoral research associate since 2011. Qing’s current research focuses on implementing a novel data-driven diffusion basis spectrum imaging (DBSI) method to investigate the white matter changes in Alzheimer’s disease. DBSI is promising in distinguishing and specifically quantifying neuro-inflammation and white matter damages in neurodegenerative diseases. The application of DBSI in Alzheimer’s disease study will help us to understand mechanisms, underlying those changes and contribute to the therapeutic strategies to slow down or halt the development of Alzheimer’s disease. In her spare time, Qing enjoys hiking for exercise, which allows her to enjoy some fresh air and experience the great outdoors.
