Hyperpolarized 13C and 15N MRI


The von Morze Lab aims to discover improved markers of human disease using non-invasive metabolic readouts based on hyperpolarized MRI.

We develop pulse sequences for localized direct and indirect detection of hyperpolarized magnetization, as well as radiofrequency (RF) coils and other MR hardware needed for these studies. We also develop and characterize novel metabolically-active 13C- and 15N-labeled hyperpolarized MRI probes. Samples are pre-polarized in a 5-T GE SPINlab via the process of dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) with rapid dissolution.
