We develop pulse sequences for localized direct and indirect detection of hyperpolarized magnetization, as well as radiofrequency (RF) coils and other MR hardware needed for these studies. We also develop and characterize novel metabolically-active ¹³C- and ¹⁵N-labeled hyperpolarized MRI probes. Samples are pre-polarized in a 5-T GE SPINlab via the process of dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) with rapid dissolution.
