Muscle, Tendon and Tendon Sheath Injection (Tenography)

Ankle & tendon pain treatments in St. Louis

Description

Tenography is primarily a therapeutic technique for treating chronic ankle and tendon pain that has not improved with other treatments. Using x-ray guidance, the radiologist will insert a thin needle and inject contrast solution. The contrast solution is designed to highlight your anatomy to make sure the area thought to be causing your pain is precisely targeted. The radiologist will then slowly release a combination of anti-inflammatory (steroid) and anesthetic (numbing) medications into the ankle and tendon area.
