Bone Tumor treatments

Bone tumor treatments & procedures in St. Louis

A bone tumor is an abnormal growth of cells within a bone. A bone tumor may be cancerous (malignant) or non-cancerous (benign). Various treatments including cementoplasty, kyphoplasty and vetebroplasty are available for treating bone tumors. Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty are minimally invasive procedures. In kyphoplasty, a balloon is first inserted into the affected bone through the hollow needle to create a cavity or space. "Cement" is injected into the cavity once the balloon is removed.
