Musculoskeletal Radiology

We also provide interventions for pain and local tumor management.

All of our physicians are fellowship-trained radiologists subspecializing in musculoskeletal disorders. Diagnostic imaging studies are typically monitored in real-time allowing specific tailoring of your patient's examinations to address your clinically relevant questions. We want your patients to get answers, not just generic images and recommendations for more testing.

We offer a wide range of minimally-invasive, image-guided, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for spine, bone, joint and soft tissue conditions. Aspiration and biopsy of cysts, inflammation, infections and tumors can be performed in the spine, joints and extremity bones and soft tissues. Therapeutic injections are offered for pain relief originating in both the spine and extremities. Cement injection, radiofrequency ablation, cryotherapy and laser treatment are available for treating certain osteoporotic fractures, nerve entrapments, benign bone tumors, and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors.

Our subspecialization enables us to treat your patients with special conditions. Interventions are performed with local anesthesia or conscious sedation in an out-patient setting.

MSK interventions can reduce pain, improve quality of life and enable some patients to return a more normal lifestyle. Examples of image-guided MSK interventions include:

  • Cementoplasty, cryoablation and radiofrequency ablation of bone tumors
  • Nerve blocks, facet injections and epidural injections
  • Bone, disc and soft tissue biopsies
  • Joint and bursal aspirations and injections
  • Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty for benign and malignant compression fractures
