Breast Imaging

You’re in caring hands.

The breast imaging section of Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University provides complete breast imaging services. We offer advanced screening and diagnostic services by specially-trained radiologists and an all-woman team of technologists. Our equipment is among the most advanced — anywhere.

Our examinations include mammography (screening and diagnostic), breast ultrasound, breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as well as image-guided biopsies and needle localizations. All scans are interpreted by our board-certified radiologists who have a sub-specialization in breast imaging. Breast imaging is their total focus.

Our most specialized exams and procedures are available at the Joanne Knight Breast Health Center located at the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine. But we also have satellite locations that offer mammograms. Some offer more services. Visit our locations page for additional details. Appointment times are broad to accommodate various schedules. Want a screening mammogram today? Walk-ins are accepted at select locations. With multiple locations, including a mobile mammography van, there’s a convenient site by you.

Mammograms are only as good as those who interpret them, and no one in the St. Louis metropolitan area has more expertise than Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University.
