Abdominal Imaging

An active clinical body-MR service performs studies of all extracranial organ systems. The body MRI fellowship focuses on clinical training involving all aspects of body MR, including abdominal and pelvic MR as well as MR angiography, cardiac, and MR/CT. Although the primary focus of the fellowship is on clinical training, there will also be opportunities for research. Two fellows per year are accepted into the one-year program.

In addition to film interpretation, emphasis will be placed on the understanding of instrumentation and basic physical principles of MR as applied to clinical imaging. Mallinckrodt Institute has a total of 16 clinical and 9 research state-of-the-art MR Imaging systems including a dedicated whole body simultaneous PET-MRI Scanner used for clinical and research (including an 11.7 Tesla scanner).
