Residents & Fellowships
Residents and fellows in the abdominal imaging section benefit on multiple fronts. Trainees work side by side with world-renowned abdominal radiologists with a broad array of expertise and clinical/research interests. The case mix is an excellent balance of routine pathology, unusual and interesting cases referred to a quaternary center, and imaging of emerging surgical and radiologic techniques.
Schedules are balanced between traditional didactic and hands-on training using the most advanced imaging modalities available anywhere. Additionally, junior residents and fellows are exposed to 'hot seat' training where faculty will question you about disease-specific protocols and film interpretations to better prepare you for your career, whether it be in academia or in private practice.
Residents and Fellows will get to experience a variety of exams during their rotation including plain film, CT, MR, US and fluoroscopic exams. Fellows during their training in Abdominal Imaging will rotate at Barnes West County Hospital and get to experience a more private practice model of multimodality sub-specialty service.
