Abdominal Imaging

Our protocols optimize image information and minimize radiation exposure.

The abdominal imaging section is comprised of board-certified, subspecialty trained radiologists with expertise in gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems. Our radiologists are experts in imaging these systems and use disease-specific protocols they refined. Based on the suspected etiology of your patient’s symptoms, we will select the appropriate protocol to optimize imaging information and minimize radiation exposure. Complex cases are discussed during interdisciplinary conferences.

Because of our strong academic and research background, we apply the latest advances in imaging techniques and use the most technologically-advanced equipment. Core devices used in our section include ultrasound, MRI and CT.  Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology has a rich history in imaging. We had the first CT scanner in North America and have since pioneered its application.

We also supply emergency radiology services.
