EARLY SPECIALIZATION IN INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY (ESIR)

Up to three residents will be selected from each residency class for ESIR status. ESIR residents will focus on Interventional Radiology during their fourth year of residency training and will complete an ICU month as well as at least eight IR and IR-related rotations to easily meet the requirements for advanced placement into an Independent IR Residency. The balance of the year will include Diagnostic Radiology rotations like Nuclear Medicine and Breast Imaging to meet training requirements.
