The Medical Center

The Washington University Comprehensive Fibroid Center is based at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, the primary teaching hospital of Washington University School of Medicine.

Washington University Medical Center is widely recognized as one of the premier medical institutions in the United States, resulting in several distinct advantages to the individual patient.

Most importantly, the medical school's national reputation enables the recruitment of highly qualified, personable and specialized physician, nursing, and ancillary staff. Additionally, the patient reaps the full benefit of the most recent technological advances in medicine, as all procedures are performed using state-of-the-art equipment.

The Gynecology and Interventional Radiology sections at Washington University Medical Center have a long history of partnership in patient care and research, enabling patients to receive balanced treatment recommendations with input from all appropriate specialists.

The expertise of these specialists is complemented by that of national authorities in gynecological imaging at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, of which the Interventional Radiology section is a part. We believe that these unique advantages provide us with the flexibility to consider individual patient needs in designing effective treatment options for women with uterine fibroids.
