Uterine Fibroid Embolization

Uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), also called uterine artery embolization (UAE), is an alternative to hysterectomy (the surgical removal of the uterus). UFE is performed by an interventional radiologist.  Women who have uterine fibroid tumors that cause bleeding or pain may be a candidate for this procedure.  UFE is minimally invasive, preserves the uterus, and has been shown to be about 90% effective in improving symptoms.

To speak to a doctor or nurse about this procedure, call (314)362-2375 or toll free at 1-866-254-7237.
