Opened in 1989, Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital (BJWCH) is a 113-bed facility in the western suburbs of St. Louis. There are five Mallinckrodt Institute physicians on staff at BJWCH, and the radiology department is equipped with specialized equipment such as high-speed MRI and spiral CT with 3-D imaging capability. BJWCH has a skilled nursing facility; a full-service, 24-hour Emergency Department; an Ambulatory Surgery Center; and an Imaging Center. The hospital is noted for excellence in orthopedics, especially in total joint replacements, and has sports medicine and rehabilitation facilities on site. There are more than 350 highly skilled surgeons on staff.
